The thermo-mineral waters get out from underground tanks fed from the rain waters: this water (of precipitation)flow into the subsoil of porous ground and arrives to the waterís tanks which are warmed from hot springs situated into the depth of the soil; the waters are changed into steam and they'll go up to the surface.
The steam warmes superficial tanks and gives origin to the sources of thermo-mineral water. These are called so because they become rich in mineral contained into the grounds before going out to the surface.
This is the reason of the different chemical composition of thermal waters because the chemical composition of the grounds is different.
Here we can find a classification tableof waters present in the island:
The temperature of mineral waters changes between 15C° and 86C° (so they are: cold, ipothermal, thermal, iperthermal).
The sources of the island register the concentration of small quantity of a noble gas: Radon. This presence is not harmful because the gas has a reduced power of penetration (a sheet of paper is enough to stop it), it has a reduced period of life so it isn't able to accumulate itself). It is demonstred it has a good influence on human health exalting its phisyological functions so it can be exploited in various clinical situations.
