Travel between Ischia and Procida and the mainland is no problem, thanks to an efficient maritime transport service, guaranteed by approved and experienced ferry companies, whose transport has modern ferries which guarantee fast and frequent connections between the island ports and those of Naples and Pozzuoli.
THE PORTS Molo Beverello is Naples' biggest port. Caremar and Lauro Ferries and hydrofoils allow both passengers, cars, bikes and scooters to travel to Ischia, Procida and Capri. Connections with the railway station and airport are provided by bus and taxi. Mergellina port is the second most important port of the city. It only provides a hydrofoil service, which takes only foot passengers on board. The SNAV trips for Procida and Casamicciola and the Lauro ones for Ischia are frequent. Connections with the station and airport are provided by bus and taxi, as well as the nearby railway station at Mergellina. The port of Pozzuoli is to be found slightly north of Naples and is fairly well connected to Naples via motorway and city ring road. It provides only a ferry service for Ischia, Procida and Casamicciola. Its geographical position (nearer to Ischia) makes travelling to the islands convenient, both as far as price and the length of the journey are concerned, as well as for those travelling by car.
