How many beaches are there on Ischia?(22) There are many beaches on Ischia. Beyond those ones, that are easily reachable on foot, there are many other ones reachable only by sea. Among the most famous and crowded beaches of Ischia we can mention: Maronti, Citara, the shore of Ischia Porto, San Francesco, San Montano, Cartaromana.
Does the public transport well work?(23) The public transport service on the island is performed by the EAVBUS buses as well as by numerous taxis. On our web page about transport you'll also find the general timetable of all buses.
Are the hotels open 12 months a year?(24) Only a few ones. Most of them, on the contrary, determine on their own their activity time, which is concentrated in those periods, when there is the main tourist flow, usually between Easter and September-October and during Christmas time.

How long does it take to reach Ischia by hydrofoil?(27) From Mergellina to Ischia Porto it usually takes between 35 and 40 minutes. From Molo Beverello to Ischia Porto, on the contrary, you will need between 45 and 55 minutes. Obviously, in the case of rough sea, this duration time can remarkably increase (around 30-50%).
Are there some limitations about cars?(28) Only for the inhabitants of the Campania Region. In order to limit traffic, during the tourist season (more or less from March to September), both landing and circulation of vehicles (cars, motorcars and scooters) are forbidden, whose owners or drivers are resident in Campania (with the exception of the inhabitants of Ischia, obviously).
How much is the ferriage or the hydrofoil ticket?(29) The fare from one harbour of the island towards one of the mainland (or viceversa) varies according to the concerned boat (ship or hydrofoil), the shipping company, the route, the kind of vehicle you are with (if present). Anyway, fares are not much different from the ones indicated in our web-page concerning sea transport.
